“Nishijin Shopping Street”

“The True Identity of the ‘Nishijin Shopping Street’”

This article gives a fun introduction to the features and shops of the five shopping streets running from Nishijin Station to Fujisaki Station.

It also explains the origin of the name “Sazae-san Shopping Street.”

Please take a look:

(From the article)

Strictly speaking, there is no shopping street called the “Nishijin Shopping Street.”
The shopping street that stretches east to west for about 1.5 km from Nishijin Station to Fujisaki Station on the Fukuoka City Subway is actually a collection of five shopping streets.
From the east, the “Orange-dori Shopping Street,” “Nishijin Chuo Shopping Street,” “Nakanishi Shopping Street,” “Takatori Shopping Street,” and “Fujisaki Shopping Street” each have their own distinct charm.
This time, I would like to introduce their features.
