This year, too, I was able to care for a great many patients.
I sincerely thank everyone.
The clinic has now entered its seventh year.
Times keep changing, and the scenery feels quite different from when we started in 2018.
Adapting to these changes,
I want to do everything I can so that our patients and the colleagues who work with me
can all be in good shape.
I think the eyes are very difficult to understand.
Explaining as clearly as possible with diagrams is what I value most.
For that reason, at the end of the year we changed the layout of the examination room even further.
We placed two monitors where they are easy to see.
・Anterior segment
・Posterior segment (retina and optic nerve)
The display is divided mainly into these two, and reference images can be shown as needed.
This year, too, we were able to take part in local concerts.
・Momiji Festival at Momiji Hachimangu Shrine 🍁: performing in a group with cello, violin, and piano
・Takatori Family Concert 🎄: a Christmas concert with string instruments
We were able to hold it again this year together with students from Seinan Gakuin University.
Takatori Shopping Street Saturday Night Market, Nishijin Shopping Street Sazae-san Festival, and more
As a junior member of the board of the Takatori Shopping Street Promotion Association, I also take part in events that everyone can enjoy.
(Thanks to the shopping street chairman’s connection to Yame 🍵)
Thank you, everyone.
Our patients range widely in age, from newborns to people in their 90s,
and in ophthalmology the time an appointment takes is often hard to predict.
So that we can say, “Please come in anytime you are concerned,”
we have increased the number of reception and medical administration staff and certified orthoptists.
We aim to finish each visit in as short a time as possible.
Two new graduates and staff from other industries: they got used to the work in a short time.
And there are the colleagues who have worked with me for a long time.
Everyone does excellent work every day. Thank you.
We have also expanded our English-language care further.
During my time studying in the United States, I felt uneasy when I could not communicate in medical settings.
With that experience, I wanted people to be able to “see an English-speaking doctor even if it is not their native language.”
I am glad that we have been able to help people from many different countries.
The doctors at Kyushu University and around us have been very kind, which makes coordinating patient care easy.
Thank you always.
I want to keep working earnestly to care for the people of our community.
It was a very good year.
I hope 2025 will be a wonderful year for everyone.
Have a wonderful New Year.
