Testing Young Children: What Repeated Exams Reveal

Soon after the clinic opened, the number of children visiting increased greatly.
Pediatric ophthalmology: every day, all of us care for many children.

With young children:

・They were tired today
・They are in a bit of a bad mood
・They have become sleepy
・They could not concentrate because of the commotion during other people’s tests

All sorts of things happen.
Let’s do what we can “today.”
That is how we approach the tests and the exam.

“Let’s try again next time.”
Children often get used to the atmosphere of the clinic and become able to do the tests well.
After several rounds of testing, the current condition of the eyesoften becomes clear.

Please ask us about anything you are unsure of or worried about.

Even when an explanation is likely to be long, we say,
“Please wait a little while until after we see the several patients who are waiting now.”
We divide the time and explain everything.

To supplement the explanation, we also use
what is written on this website.
If you have read it beforehand, things may go a little faster.

We will talk as long as time allows.
If you have new questions, we will talk about them again at the next visit.

Thank you very much.
