This is about “eyelash extension allergy.”
Visiting with symptoms such as redness and eyelid swelling while using eyelash extensions:
We have had several people who were diagnosed with keratoconjunctivitis or blepharitis.
As a cause of allergic inflammation, attention has been drawn to the “glue (adhesive)” used to attach extensions to your own eyelashes, which contains formaldehyde. In fact, an analysis of the glue’s components reported that formaldehyde above the standard value was detected in all 3 types examined.1。

We have you remove the eyelash extensions and use eye drops and ointment to calm the inflammation.

Among glaucoma eye drops, prostaglandin-related drugs (PG drugs) can have the side effect of “lengthening the eyelashes.”
Seeing many glaucoma patients, almost everyone using PG eye drops has longer, thicker eyelashes.
This side effect can be used for cosmetic purposes in people with eyelash hypotrichosis (a condition with few eyelashes).
Glashvista®(Allergan) applies the same drug as the PG glaucoma eye drop (Lumigan®; bimatoprost) to the base of the eyelashes. 2。
Like drawing a thin eyeliner along the edge of the eyelid,
apply it with a dedicated thin brush
→ In about 3 months, the eyelashes become fuller.
(This is different from eyelash serums.)
Because it increases your own eyelashes, the allergy above does not occur.
Please also see the warning about the harm of eyelash extensions 3。
Glashvista® is not covered by insurance and is a self-pay treatment.
I think the advantage of getting a prescription from an ophthalmologist is that the health of the eye can be checked with a slit-lamp microscope (together with the condition of the fundus).
