We received many samples of myopia supplements from physicians at the Keio University Department of Ophthalmology,
and we have now made them available for purchase.
○ Clear Vision Junior ¥1,620 (tax included)
→ Sweet and tasty, so it suits young children; the crocetin concentration is low
○ Clear Vision EX ¥3,240 (tax included)
→ Taken as a capsule; the crocetin concentration is equivalent to that used in the study below
Findings published in 2019 by ophthalmologists at Keio University and Osaka University:
They are based on a study of 69 children aged 6 to 12 with myopia of -1.5 D to -4.5 D.
30 children in the placebo group and 39 in the crocetin group:
After 24 weeks, the crocetin group showed significant differences in
✔ axial length elongation
✔ change in spherical equivalent
✔ choroidal thickness
and the report states that it suppressed myopia progression.
No adverse events related to crocetin were reported.
By taking a crocetin supplement,
✔the hope is to “increase blood flow to the choroid, thicken it, and keep the eye from lengthening.”
* The choroidis
the part of the layers that make up the eyeball that lies between the outer “sclera” (white) and the “retina,” the nerve tissue that senses light.
It has abundant blood flow and is responsible for nutrition and metabolism within the eye.
It is continuous with the iris and the ciliary body, and together they are called the “uvea.”
It is the most densely vascularized part of the human body and can reflect inflammation throughout the body (= uveitis).
