Uveitis (iritis, iridocyclitis): eye inflammation that, even today, has no identifiable cause in half of cases
• Autoimmune diseases (diseases in which the body attacks its own tissues)
• Infections
and more. It is a disease that requires a great deal of knowledge to manage.
We treat uveitis.
Uveitis associated with sarcoidosis, Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease, and Behçet’s disease
Acute anterior uveitis, uveitis associated with rheumatoid arthritis
Herpetic uveitis (iridocyclitis), uveitis associated with diabetes, uveitis associated with ulcerative colitis, and more
We now see patients with all of these diseases.
We are also receiving more referrals from physicians at other institutions. Thank you, as always.
Having specialized in uveitis consistently since my residency in ophthalmology at Kyushu University, and having studied from basic immunology:
I try to understand the wide variety of ocular inflammation from an immunological perspective.
Building a system that lets me explain things clearly using images.
→ I explain the current condition, treatment, prognosis, and more.
I increasingly have occasions to feel glad that I could be of help to people struggling with uveitis.
